Online Monitoring

Online Monitoring allows users to continuously monitor and track a UV source. This is useful in applications where a radiometer will not fit, where high value and/or high production speeds are used and when it is not practical or easy to access each lamp (multi-lamp bank and/or elevated). The feedback is relative and looks at the relative output over time. Online Monitoring will identify both gradual (aging lamps) or sudden (equipment malfunction, user changed parameters) changes in the intensity.

EIT’s Online Monitoring solution comes in two configurations: 

Standard Compact Sensor used with a DIN Rail Signal Conditioning Unit

EMI Compact Sensor used with an EMI DIN Rail Signal Conditioning Unit

Compact Sensor

The Compact Sensor is small, robust, stable sensor is that is highly resistant to solarization and the optics are sealed to prevent fouling. The Compact Sensor is available with or without a purge and in your choice of bandwidths (UVA, UVB, UVC or UVV).  EIT will help determine the proper range Compact Sensor based on the source type, source power and mounting location. Sensors are used in a 1:1 ratio with the DIN Rail described below.

DIN Rail

The EIT DIN Rail unit provides a 0-10V or 4-20 mA analog output is proportional to the UV intensity. The EIT DIN Rail is designed for PLC or other control system feedback. The DIN Rail allows the user to set a low UV limit threshold alarm. Units are DIN Rail “mountable” to allow monitoring of many lamps in a small area.  The system requires 24V AC/DC power.

EMI Compact Sensor/EMI DIN Rail

The EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) Compact Sensor, features the same robust, stable optics as the standard Compact Sensor. The EMI Compact Sensor and EMI DIN Rail have additional circuitry to allow the EMI Sensor/EMI DIN Rail to be used in ‘electrically noisy’ environments.

Applications where the sensor must be mounted very close to a power supply or UV sources that produce a tremendous amount of RF energy are potential applications. The EMI Compact Sensor must be used with the EMI Din Rail and EMI cabling for maximum EMI protection.

Compact Sensor Quartz Rod


The EIT Quartz Rod can be used with the Compact Sensor/EMI Compact sensor in environments where space is extremely limited or the environment/temperature will not allow direct placement of a an EIT Sensor near the lamp. The Quartz Rod is 3.94” (10 cm) in length and it is used with the CS-1 type housing. The purge is removed on the CS-1 housing and the Quartz Rod is installed with the supplied screw
