SUBJECT: EIT’s Virginia Facilities Achieve AS9100:2009 Registration and Renew ISO13485:2003 Registration

EIT, LLC, a Sterling, Virginia based electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider, is proud to announce that it has achieved quality certification to AS9100:2009, the Aerospace Quality Standard for all of their Virginia facilities. EIT operates two facilities in Sterling and two facilities in Danville.

The audits were performed by NQA (National Quality Assurance, USA), one of the world’s leading registrars. NQA provided a rigorous five day audit that allowed EIT to showcase the many aspects of its Quality System.

The scope of AS9100:2009 for EIT’s facilities includes designing, manufacturing, integration and testing of custom electronic and electromechanical systems including cable, wire harness, printed circuit board assemblies, chassis integration, box build, mechanical assembly and precision machining.

With this achievement, EIT is now certified to the AS9100:2009 standard with NQA in all five of our facilities including EIT’s Northeast Operations (ENE) that was acquired by EIT in January 2013. EIT’s ENE operations are currently based in Methuen, Massachusetts. All five of EIT’s facilities are also ITAR registered.

In addition to AS9100:2009, EIT’s Virginia facilities were also audited by NQA to the ISO13485:2003 for medical manufacturing. EIT’s ISO 13485:2003 scope of work is the same as our scope of work for aerospace products.

EIT plans additional improvements to better serve our customer base in the near future. Quality System improvements include having EIT ENE Operations achieve ISO 13485:2003 registration in Q4 2013. EIT, LLC also plans to achieve certification to ISO 14001 (Environmental), for all five locations in late 2013 or early 2014.

EIT is in the process of implementing its MRP system into our ENE Operations in addition to evaluating the infrastructure needed to best serve our customers in New England.

David Faliskie, EIT President and COO stated that “The AS9100 and the ISO 13485 Certifications, on top of our ISO9001:2008 Certification, show EIT’s commitment to quality and continuous improvements. Now in our 37th year, EIT continues to develop the processes, controls and technologies necessary to meet customer requirements and keep EIT as a premiere EMS provider.”

Founded in 1977, EIT provides contract electronic manufacturing services (EMS), engineering and support services for its medical, industrial, telecommunication, aerospace and defense customers. EIT’s Instrument Markets group designs, builds, sells and services a line of UV radiometers and process control solutions that are sold worldwide.

EIT’s Quality Certificates are posted on our web site (www.eit.com). Additional questions should be directed to John Fotenos or Jim Raymont.
