UV Support, Calibration and Service

Why Re-Calibrate Your Instrument

EIT's Customer Service/Metrology Lab handles service on all EIT manufactured UV instruments. This includes calibrations, updates and both warranty and non-warranty service. The technicians in the Metrology Lab, many of whom have years of experience at EIT, understand the design, specifications, and tolerances for each of our instruments. They follow the calibration or repair procedure for each instrument to ensure repeatable results. A lifetime historical "service and calibration record" is kept up to date and can be accessed for the life of each individual instrument. Customer Service personnel strive to provide quick turn-around time on all services.

Calibration is recommended every 6 months for all UV measurement radiometers except MicroCure. There are many reasons to have your unit evaluated and re-calibrated at the specified time interval. Our instruments are used in a number of varied applications. The UV environment is quite harsh and heat can cause damage to a number of optical components. Occasionally, accidental mis-handling of instruments can introduce microscopic scratches to the neutral density filter which causes more light to enter the optics and alters the readings. EIT technicians have access to the specially matched optics and genuine factory components that are used in our radiometers to keep your unit in excellent working condition for optimal performance.

All calibrated UV instruments have NIST traceability.

How to Return a Unit to EIT

EIT recommends that all UV instruments be calibrated every 6 months. Units returned to EIT for calibration, both warranty and non-warranty do not need a RMA number. All units will be assigned a Service Number upon receipt at EIT.
