CUSTOMER SERVICE/METROLOGY LAB EIT's Customer Service/Metrology Lab handles service on all EIT manufactured UV instruments. This includes calibrations, updates and both warranty and non-warranty service. The technicians in the Metrology Lab, many of whom have years of experience at EIT, understand the design, specifications, and tolerances for each of our instruments. They follow the calibration or repair procedure for each instrument to ensure repeatable results. A lifetime historical "service and calibration record" is kept up to date and can be accessed for the life of each individual instrument. All calibrated UV instruments have NIST traceability. EIT technicians also have access to the specially matched optics and genuine factory components that are used in our radiometers. Customer Service personnel strive to provide quick turn-around time on all services.
RETURNING A UNIT TO EIT Units returned to EIT for calibration, warranty and non-warranty work do not need a RMA number. See below for information on returning a unit to EIT. EIT recommends that all UV instruments be calibrated every 6 months. When a unit requires EIT service, ship the unit prepaid to:
EIT Instrument MarketsBe sure to include company information, contact phone, fax and e-mail information in the package. Please complete a copy of the Service Request Form and send it with your shipment. Be sure all equipment is in appropriate packaging to prevent damage during shipment. All items must be sent pre-paid, door-to-door. If the unit is sent from outside the US, please be sure to identify the package as "U.S. made goods, returned for service". All units received will be assigned a Service Number upon receipt at EIT. The customer will be notified of this Service Number for reference and tracking purposes. You can save time and have your instrument returned to you more quickly if you arrange for payment and return shipping ahead of time. If you have been granted open terms by EIT, include your purchase order number, complete return shipping address and preferred method of shipping. EIT also accepts MasterCard and Visa to facilitate faster shipping. Contact EIT for wire transfer information. Warranty Information EIT, Inc. warrants its goods (except consumables such as thermocouple probes) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. Such defects must become apparent within six months after delivery of the goods to the buyer. EIT's liability under this warranty is limited to replacing or repairing the defective goods at our option. EIT shall provide all materials and labor required to adjust, repair, and/or replace the defective goods at no cost to the buyer only if the defective goods are returned, freight prepaid, to EIT during the warranty period. EIT, Inc. shall be relieved of all obligations and liability under this warranty if:
No person, firm, or corporation is authorized to assume for EIT, Inc. any additional obligation or liability not expressly provided for herein except in writing duly executed by an officer of EIT, Inc. If any portion of this agreement is invalidated, the remainder of the agreement shall remain in full force and effect. This warranty shall not apply to any instrument or component not manufactured by EIT, Inc. Calibration and Repair Warranty The warranty for repair service and periodic calibration is as stated for new units, above, except that the warranty period is ninety (90) days. Following are the instructions for warranty returns. Warranty Returns When returning the equipment under warranty, include the cable, software, and charger sent with the equipment so that EIT can verify correct operation of these accessories. Please return the equipment in the original (or equivalent) packaging. You will be responsible for damage incurred from inadequate packaging, if the original packaging is not used. The purchaser is responsible for insuring the unit during transportation to EIT, Inc. Equipment repaired under warranty will be returned to the user with no charge for the repair or shipping. EIT will notify you of repairs not covered by warranty and their cost prior to performing any work on the equipment. EIT, Inc. reserves the right to make changes in design at any time without incurring any obligation to install the same on units previously purchased. Ship the unit, freight prepaid, to:

Payment Options Customers may pay for all services performed by either PO#, check, or credit card (VISA, MasterCard and American Express accepted). For customers outside the US, EIT requires pre-payment prior to returning a unit. Calibration Certificates All calibrated units that have been serviced by the EIT Metrology Lab are returned to customers with new calibration certificates.
