How To Interpret the UVIMAP Printout

  • Total UV Energy - This is the area under the curve and is expressed in Joules/ cm2

  • Peak UV Intensity - This is the numeric value of the highest intensity that was measured. This is expressed in W/cm2

  • UV Average Intensity - This is the sum of all the UV intensity data samples divided by the number of samples taken

  • Sample Rate - The sample rate that was used in the measurement

  • Number of UV Samples - The number of samples taken during an individual run

  • Peak Temperature - The peak temperature detected by the thermocouple during the pass. It is expressed in degrees C

  • Internal Temperature - This is the internal temperature of the UVIMAP. This is printed out in order to protect UVIMAP against overheating

  • Mode - Tells you whether the data collection mode was in Manual or Automatic. The UVIMAP begins taking samples immediately in Manual Mode and at 2% of the top range selected in Automatic Mode

  • (Space at the bottom of the summary) - This allows you to make notes about the measurement - for example, date, name of installation, conveyor speed, identification which might make it easier for later comparisons
