Battery Charging Guidelines for Users of UVIMAP, UVICURE and UVIRAD Radiometers
- Charge the batteries only when the unit is cool. Never charge when the temperature inside the unit is above 30°C. Mark II UVIMAPs (produced since 1990) will list their inside temperatures when printing out. For UVICURE and Mark I UVIMAPs, the users should allow 15 minutes under constant airflow. Charging of the battery packs while the unit is still warm will severely limit the life span of the batteries and possibly burst them.
- Do not charge the batteries any longer than 8-14 hours. Leaving the instrument on charge for weeks at a time will shorten the life of the batteries.
