Example 1
HIGH RESOLUTION VIDEO IMAGE CAPTURE BOARD

Challenge:
High cost, obsolete technology, below spec speed performance in an assembly with a large installed base

Objective:
Reduce cost, update technology and improve testability with a drop-in replacement

Solution:
Redesigned circuitry using DSP technology, redesigned the board layout to enhance manufacturability, testability and performance while retaining the existing interface locations

Result:
Reduced board size by 75%, dropped the layer count to 4 layers from 6, converted to double sided surface mount assembly from a through hole design, increased speed performance to 110% of specification and provided a 100% drop-in replacement.
